  • Saint John Regional Hospital Cardiac Rehabilitation Program
    The Cardiac Rehabilitation Program is one of Canada East Spine Centre's local collaborators for the study "Elucidating the effects of a prehabilitation program on spinal surgery candidates with cardiac comorbidities: A randomized controlled trial."     Canada East Spine Centre has been collaborating with the IWK on the clinical trial "Post-Operative Recovery following Spinal Correction: Home Experience (PORSCHE Study)." A prospective observational study examining the pain and recovery patterns in a pediatric population following scoliosis correction surgery.

  • Dr. Dean Tripp, PhD
    Canada East Spine Centre has been collaborating with Dr. Tripp on the study "Psychological Risk Factors for Poor Spine Surgery Outcomes" which is a prospective, observational study to test the hypothesis that a combination of psychological risk factors can affect the recovery of a spine surgery patient.

  • The Canadian Spine Outcomes and Research Network (CSORN)
    Canada East Spine Centre and The Canadian Spine Society with 19 other sites participate in CSORN. CSORN is a prospective patient data collection effort that consecutively enrolls all consenting, adult, surgical patients at CESC. We are the second largest contributor to this database, and work with spinal surgeons in 20 different sites across Canada to maintain it.

  • Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick (DMNB)
    The Canada East Spine Centre partners with Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick, by working with Dalhousie medical students with their research projects in orthopaedic spine. The first program of its kind in Canada, Research in Medicine is a mandatory program that introduces Dalhousie medical students to research from the start of their medical training. From first year on, it fosters their research and critical thinking abilities as they complete independent research projects.
